Hikurangi Dairy Coy.'s Changes
Appreciation of the services rendered by Mr F. G. McDonald, late chairman of directors, who resigned from the board last September, was expressed by directors of the Hikurangi Dairy Company in their 42nd annual report to be presented to the annual general meeting of shareholders on July 18. Mr McDonald was a provisional director when the company was incorporated in 1904. Tiie resignation of the manager (Mr S. .1. Wood), who has been with the company for more than 20 years, has been accepted with regret. Mr Wood’s offer to continue in office until a successor had been appointed had been accepted and appreciated, and the board desired to place on record his services with the company. The retiring directors by rotation are Messrs J. M. McKenzie and H. W. Rusk, who are eligible for re-election. In addition to particulars of the report previously published, it was stated that the turnover of the company's trading department was slightly higher than the previous year and, with a return to normal conditions, it was anticipated that more farming requisites would be made available. The working account disclosed that cream collection costs amounted to £8674 after deducting £3662 for lorry earnings. Approximately 88 per cent of the cream received was transported by the company’s own fleet.
