To Spend £2,000,009 On North Roods
A plan for the expenditure of £2.000.000 in development work and roading in Northland has been prepared by the Public Works Department.
The department's district engineer (Mr L. May) made a statement to this effect at the annual meeting of the No 1 District Highways Council, held at Whangarei yesterday.
The annual estimates which totalled £458,700. compared with £277,190 last year provided for the completion of the sealing of the State highway from Auckland to Whangarei. there being a section between Topuni and Kaiwaka not yet sealed.
