No Britons In Egypt
(Rec. 11.15 a.m.) LONDON. June 25. The Egyptian Premier (Sidky Pasha) declared: "There will not be a single British soldier in Egypt after the conclusion of the treaty," says the Cairo correspondent of the Associated Press.
"All British establishments will be turned over to the Egyptian Government.’’
Sidky Pasha denied reports that Britain would keep military bases in Egypt. STERLING RESERVES Sidky Pasha announced that Egypt’s sterling balances accumulated during the six years of the war total £440.000.000. of which £250.000.000 were in Treasury bonds and bills. £5.000.000 in British securities and £185,000.000 in current accounts credits.
