Sswestigaf-e Union Sniping Tactics

(Rec. 1.0.)

MELBOURNE, This Day

The Arbitration Court will investigate sniping tactics by unions. Metal trade unions are alleged to have been using a new technique in direct action against employers, which has already cost the trade a loss of over £1.000.000.

Key employees in some metal trades who have become engaged in wage disputes with their employers walk out of their jobs and obtain work elsewhere. Unions declare the vacant jobs black. Thus there is no dispute to refer to a tribunal in the ordinary way, as one party has simply walked out. The Arbitration Court has now been asked to deal with such cases under the National Security Regulations.
