Defence Of Empire
(Special) WELLINGTON, This Day. A British Commonwealth conference which has been called by the Chief of the Imperial Staff (FieldMarshal Montgomery) will be attended by the Chief of the New Zealand General. Staff (Major-General N. W. McD. Weir). This was announced yesterday by the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser).
The conference will be held in Brittain in August.
Major-General Weir expects to leave New Zealand towards the end of July, travelling by air. Brigadier R. S. Park, New Zealand liaison officer in London, will also take part in the talks.
