Riot In Teheran
<Rec. 11.25 a.m.) TEHERAN, June 24
The police fired 35 shots during.a demonstration of 2000 unemployed demanding jobs outside municipal headquarters in the main square. The crowd smashed windows of the municipal building and the post office. Police reinforcements finally broke up the gathering. A high Government official stated that this is regarded as the first reaction to Qavam es-Sultaneh’s communique warning workers' organisations against interfering with the Government's power and threatening heavy punishment for it.
