' U.S. Forces Menace To China Peace'
(Rec. 11.20 a.m.) NANKING. June 24. The Communist leader, Mao Tsetung, in a statement issued at his Yenan headquarters, declared that United States Army and Navy forces in China had become a grave menace to national peace and security. He added that the Chinese people felt the departure of American forces was long overdue and their presence was a fundamental cause of civil war in China. Therefore, the Communists resolutely opposed American military aid, which, in fact, onlv interfered with Chinese internal affairs.
