It Aimost Rained!

Whangarei people, hoping for rain, were again disappointed yesterday evening. After a brilliantly fine morning and early afternoon, a cool wind sprang up from the south-east at about 3 p.m. and lowering clouds spread over the sky. A few drops of rain fell, but the sky cleared again for a couple of hours.

Soon after (5 p.m. the clouds again banked up. the wind increased in velocity and the Western Hills became blanketed in a misty rain. To add to the delusion, the barometer was dropping. However, although conditions were overcast and threatening for most of the night, tiie morning dawned fine, but a little cooler, and the rain is apparently as far away ns ever.
