Baptist Choir Sings Carols In Streets

The voices of 35 singers brought a tuneful message of peace on earth and goodwill to all men to Whangare» people last night. It was the carolling choir of the Whangarei Baptist Church on its annual mission and the strains of “Good King Wenceslas’’ and “Hark the Herald Angels” carried almost,,,the full length of the town on the clear night sir.

A truck was the carollers’ base and on it was mounted a small organ for accompaniment. One of the band also had a violin.

Leaving at 8 p.m. the choir visited the four corners of the town, finishing at 11.30 p.m. The choir was conducted by Mr. H. Mutton.
