Whangarei Ladies’ Golf Club Championship

Conditions were again good today for the second day of the Whangarei Ladies’ Golf Club championships, although there was a higher wind than yesterday. This morning the semifinals of both the senior and junior championships will be played while this afternoon the finals will be decided. Results of play yesterday afternoon were: Senior.—-Mrs Georgeson beat Mrs Martin, 3 and 2; Mrs Laird beat Miss O. Abbott, 3 and 1, Mrs Allan beat Mrs Robertson, 4 and 3. Quarter finals.—Mrs Georgeson beat Mrs Martin, 3 and 2; Mrs Laird beat Miss O. Abbott, 3 and 1; Mrs Allan beat Mrs Robertson, 5 and 3. Semi-final,. —Mrs Slewar# 'beat Mrs Georgeson, 8 and 6; Mrs Allan beat Mrs Laird, 4 and 2 Final. —Mrs. Stewart beat Mrs. Allan. 1 up at the 19th. Junior.—Mrs Crosby beat Mrs Birnie, 3 and 2; Miss Lamb beat Mrs Nelson. 2 up; Mrs James beat Mrs Clark, 5 and 3; Mrs Wilson beat Mrs Weston. 6 and 5. Mrs Allan, with a 31 Stableford, won the Hill Rose Bowl which was competed for during the championship play. Junior quarter finals.—Mrs Crosby beat Mrs Birnie, 3 and 2; Miss Lamb beat Mrs Nelson, 2 up; Mrs James beat Mrs Clark, 5 and 3; Mrs Wilson beat Mrs Weston, 6 and 5. Semi-final.—Miss Lamb beat Mrs Crosby by default; Mrs James beat Mrs Wilson. 4 and 3. The Hill Rose Bowl for the best Stableford was won by Mrs Allan with 31 points. The winner of Ihe senior championship last year. Miss J. Stewart, is not competing. Mrs James won the junior championship last season. Final.—Mrs. James beat Miss Lamb, 4 and 3.
