Kaikohe

(Five Required) MR. J. F. CUNNINGHAM.—A marine engineer, first class, by profession, with 12 years’ travelling throughout Australia, Mr. James F. Cunningham has no\V been farming within the Kaikohe town area for seven years. He was the owner for six years of Ngawha Spring's Hotel. Still earlier, he ran the Royal Motorbus Company, between Auckland and Onehunga, and was a traveller in Northland for an cil firm.

MR. J. J. HINTON.— Having been for 10 years foreman to the body for which he is now nominating, Mr. J. J. Hinton brings a knowledge of the town’s water reticulation and other problems. During the depression lie was overseer, under the engineer, of about 100 men working on relief. He was formerly Waikato and South Auckland Rugby League rep.

MR. J. E. HUTCHlNSON.—Nominating once more for commissionership of the Kaikohe Town Board, Mr. J. E. Hutchinson is by profession an accountant. He is secretary io the Kaikohe Primary Production Council and treasurer to the local branch of the Plunket Society, in addition to holding a number of other public posts.

MR. E. MORFETTE (See Bay County Council).

MR. G. S. PENNEY.—Member of the Kaikohe Town Board from May, 1938. to the end of 1939, and again from May, 1941. to the present date, Mr. G. S. Penney has occupied the post of chairman for nearly two years past, replacing Mr. G. G. McNickle. Previous to his coming to live in Kaikohe, Mr. Penney was for 18 month's a Whangaroa County councillor. A transport contractor by occupation, Mr. Penney is chairman of the local patriotic and rehabilitation committees; also chairman of man of the Ngawha Springs Domain Board.

Mr. B. P. ROBINSON.—Making his initial entry into local body politics, Mr. Baden Powell Robinson has been in Kaikohe as line foreman for the Bay Power Board for the past five and a-hal£ years. Being keenly interested in sport he is much concerned with recreation grounds and parks. Mr. Robinson started playing senior football ’way back in the last war, and has also interested himself in tennis and golf.

MR. S. G. ROBlNSON.—Appointed in 1942 to replace Mr. A. Edwards on the Kaikohe Town Board, Mr. Stan Robinson has spent 11 years in business as a registered plumber in the town. He is also an active member of both the Chamber of Commerce and Businessmen’s Association. Coming to Kaikohe from Taranaki. Mr. Robinson was at one time a hockey provincial l’ep. and a referee; also member of the executive ccmmitee of the Stratford Operatic Socy.

MR. <l. WYATT.—Coming to Kaikohe after service overseas in the last war. Mr. John Wyatt has made his Jiving in the town as a taxi proprietor ever since. He has been a Town Board commissioner for three years and a member of Ngawha Springs Domain Board.
