(Seven Required—No Election) MR. MAURICE C. ALLEN.—WiII servo his first term on the board, and is employed as clerk in the office of the Hiku-rgngi-Waro Coal Mines, Ltd., to which position he was manpowored from the Army. MR. D. 11. COCHRANE.—A member of the board for 10 years and three years its chairman, Mr. Cochrane is also chairman of the local patriotic committee, and a Justice of the Peace. Mr. Cochrone is president of the North Auckland Coal Miners’ Industrial Union of Workers, and president of the Miners’ Council for Hikurangi raid Kamo. Past president Hikurangi Bowling Club and club’s delegate to the Northland centre; vice-president hockey and Rugby clubs. Also candidate N.A. Power Board (sitting member) and Whangarei Hospital Board.
MR. C. A. LATHAM.—A sitting member for seven years, Mr. Latham has been re-elected unopposed. He is secretary of the National Industrial Council of the Coal Miners’ Union and is engaged as shot-firer at the Hikurangi-Waro Coal Mines, Ltd.
MR. TRESTON LAYBOURN—Employed as a mine deputy at the Kamo Collieries, Ltd., Mr. Laybourn has served one term on the board.
