General MacArthur’s communique today reports the killing of 430 enemy stragglers and the capture of 45. At Wakde Island, 076 Japanese dead have been counted and the total is still mounting.

Two other Japanese ships were severely damaged when Solomons-based bombers raided Nomoi, Caroline Islands. • At Lamotrek, 540 miles west of Nomoi, nine enemy float-planes were destroyed.
