ASSISTANCE IN VOTING
With a multiplicity of candidates for some local bodies Northland electors are faced with difficulty of selection. Inquiries from returning officers reveal that the Electoral Act does not prevent voters from taking to booths slips of papers prepared by them before hand so that thev can record their votes quickly. Penalties are provided, however, for the issuing at the booths of printed slips containing the names of candidates in a manner which might influence electors.
