Treatment Of P.O.W.
NEW YORK. January 21
A Swedish Y.M.C.A. official who recently inspected a number of war prisoners' camps in Germany, told the Press that the Germans appeared to be upholding the Geneva Convention. Men received adequate food and ample opportunity for sports, study, religious services and entertainment. Officers’ camps rely mainly on Red Cress parcels, which are so well prepared that Officers have requested the Germans to limit provisions to bread, potatoes and hot water. Officers do not work, although they would prefer 1o do so. Non-commissioned officers are engaged in road and farm work, building power stations and other projects.
