Conference Under Way
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Opening the annual Dominion Patriotic Conference today, the Minister for Internal Affairs (Hon. W. Parry), expressed thanks of the Government for the untiring efforts of patriotic bodies on behalf of the New Zealand Forces and good wishes for the future. Magnificent and noteworthy work has been performed by patriotic bodies, Mr Parry added.
While the result of the war was not in doubt, the length of hostilities was still in question and, in his opinion, peace was still a fair distance off. Therefore, he wanted patriotic bodies to carry on as they had been doing, notwithstanding the difficulties and problems confronting them. 4'\ ; ,;, ' v„
