Mangapai

A largo crowd of dancers attended the function held in the Mangapai hall in honour of Lance-Corporal Mick Palmer, Trooper Brad. Walters and Sapper G. Richer. Pcmery’s Orchestra supplied the music and M.C. duties were carried out by Mr A. Lornie. Winners of Monte Carlos were Mr and Mrs F. O’Shea and Miss M. and Mr H., Ferris. Miss Shirley Palmer sang a bracket of songs. After supper, Mr Phil Carter, in a few words, presented each boy with an envelope of notes. Mr Roy Vaile, of Waipu, apologised for not holding a function in Waipu for L-Cpl. Palmer, handing him a wallet with the very besl wishes of Waipu residents. After the boys had replied and musical honours had been accorded them, dancing continued until 1 a.m. School Picnic A very successful picnic was livid on the Recreation ground last week, reflecting credit on the teacher (Mrs K.
