S. African General Killed PRETORIA, Dec. 20.
The Commander of a South African Division in the Middle East, MajorGeneral Dan Pienaar, was killed in an air crash en roifle from the Middle East. Eleven others, all members of the military leaders or cred, died with Pienaar.
General Pienaar, member of a Boer family, noted in tennis and in sport, played a distinguished part in the early stages of the Eighth Army’s latest offensive.
