The actress. Marie Ney. of New Zealand, is reported to bo in Johannesburg.
Cabled advice lias been received of the death in Canada after a brief illness of the Rev. Rowland V. Bingham. D.D., at the age of 70. Dr. Bingham visited New Zealand in 1927 on behalf of the Sudan Interior Mission, ol' which he was general director, and again in 1938, when he was one of the principal speakers at the Ngaruawahia Easter Convention meetings.
Cricket Casualties Tiie men of the American forces are deeply interested in sport, and do not confine themselves to their own national ball game. They have shown a deep interest in cricket and are keen to learn to play the game. A number of the men were deeply engrossed in a match the other evening and were putting up a veritable barrage of questions to nearby spectators, who were only too willing and ready to explain the rules of the game and the purpose of the different moves on the field. However, they were completely "stumped" when one American asked, "Say, brother, how many of them guys behind the sticks get killed in a season?"
