Shipmasters Beware

(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Where legal orders or instructions are contravened by any ship, legal authority for navy, army or air force to fire on that ship is given in an amendment to the Shipping Control Emergency Regulations gazetted last night. The regulations further provide that where a ship is so fired on the master and owner will be liable to pay the'costs of ammunition used. Provision is also made that where the master of a ship does net obey instructions given to him by the armed forces and, as a result of such disobedience, damage is caused to Crown property, then he will be liable for payment for such damage.
