Vigorous Action In Fire-Fighting

The establishment of a special organisation to secure prompt and vigorous action by various Government Departments and authorities in applying effective measures of - fire protection in target areas is announced from Downing Street. The organisation is to be called the Fire Precaution Executive and it will work in close connection with the Ministry for Home Security and include representatives of all Government departments concerned with the problem of fire prevention. Mr Herbert Morrison, Minister for Home Security, will preside overt meetings of the executive and Colonel Sir John Greenly has agreed to un* dertake administrative charge of tn organisation. ■
