Reclaiming Foreshore

Approval from the Marine Department has been received by the Whangarei Harbour Board for the work it is proposed to carry out above the Victoria Bridge. This work, which will be carried out in cooperation with the borough council, consists of the building of a retaining wall and the filling in of the large area of foreshore, as far as Grey Street. In the work the channel of the river will be deepened.
