Showery, but improving temporarily. The weekend will be unsettled with occasional showers, especially on Sunday. South-westerly winds, moderate to strong, veering to north-west and increasing again. Rough seas on the west coast. Cold temperatures. One of a series of westerly depressions has crossed the Dominion, while another disturbance is approaching from the Tasman Sea.
