Social Security Helps Hospital Board
[Per Press Association. Copyright ] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The North Canterbury Hospital Board decided to reduce its levy by £13,016 to a total of £96,767 on account of the operation of the social security legislation. It was revealed that at the close of the board’s year it had a bank credit balance of £33,161, and Government subsidies outstanding in the maintenance account amounted to £10,016, the total maintenance credit being £43,177. The finance committee estimated that revenue for the current year would amount to £171,047. compared with £75,998 for the year just ended.
