Ball - Kehoe
The Whangarei Presbyterian Church was tastefully decorated with white chrysanthemums for the wedding on April 20, of Muriel Patricia, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Kehoe, Gtaika, and Lewis, only son of Mr and Mrs A. Ball, of William Street, Whangarei. The Rev. Elliott performed the ceremony and Mr Dobson was organist. The bride, who was escorted by her grandfather, Mr W. E. Keyte, chose a white satin gown, cut on slim fitting lines, shirred at the shoulders with draped corsage and long tight fitting sleeves, pointed at the wrists. The skirt fell gracefully at the back into a long train. Her tulle embroidered veil, attached with a coronet of orange blossoms, was worn over her face, and fell in graceful folds to form a second train. She carried .a bouquet of pink and white carnations and maidenhair fern. Mrs C. Edge attended as matron of honour. Her frock was of gold net over satin, with flower trimmings and full short puffed sleeves. She wore a gold and silver head-dress, gold mittens and silver shoes, and carried a bouquet of bronze and gold chrysanthemums. The bridesmaid, Miss Ray Kehoe, sister of the bride, wore a frock similar to that of the matron of honour. Mr L. Manning was best man and Mr F. Evans, groomsman. At the reception held in the Warrington Studios, Mrs Kehoe received
the guests wearing a mauve frock and accessories. Her posy was of mauve chrysanthemums. Mrs Ball wore a blue ensemble, with hat to tone, and a posy of mauve chrysanthemums. The three-tiered wedding cake, beautifully decorated, was made by the bride’s aunt, Mrs Smith. The bridal couple left by car on their honeymoon tour, the bride travelling in an Air Force blue costume, with accessories to tone.
