Anzac Day Service At Waipu

The need today for confidence, courage and a steadfast faith in God and His purposes, was stressed by the Rev. Dr. J. D. Salmond, of Knox College, Dunedin, who delivered the Anzac Day address at Waipu. He paid a tribute to the courage and heroism of the men of Anzac. Organised by the Waipu branch of the R.S.A., the ceremony was held, in the Waipu Presbyterian Church. 4 A contingent of returned soldiers, commanded by Colonel W. Lang, and children from the District High School assembled at the Post Office, at 10.45 a.m., and, led by Piper R. McGregor, marched to the church. The memorial service was conducted by the Rev. J. D. McFarlane. “The Unknown Warrior’’ was played by Piper McGregor.
