Gift Of Braces For 55 Years
Mr E. J. Steven?, of Dubbo, New South Wales, has not bought a pair of braces for 55 years. In 1885, Mr E. H. Mumford opened a small drapery store in Macquarie. Street. ’ His first customer was Mr Stevens, who purchased a pair of braces. Ever since he has received braces as a gift from the firm on the anniversary of his first purchase. The little store has grown into one of the largest drapery establishments in the West, and, although the founder of the firm of Mumford Bros, has been dead for several years, the traditional gift has not been forgotten.
