Miss Anita Webster, of Auckland, who has been touring the North, is spending a few days in Whangarei as the guest of Mrs Michaels. Mr F. Johnson, who has been manager of the Kaitaia Hotel, has been appointed manager o f the Whangarei Hotel. Hi's successor, Mr L. Carroll, of Whangarei, has arrived at Kaitaia. Mr Jack Draper, son of Mr and Mrs J. G. Draper, of Whangarei, who has been gunnery instructor on H.M.S. Leander for some years has been promoted Chief Petty Officer on .that warship.
