37-Foot Launch Kowhai Takes Water This Evening

Built by Mr J. G. Cox to the ordei of Mr F. Reynolds, Whangarei’s newest cruising launch, the Kowhai, was launched late on Saturday afternoon from the Whangarei Engineering Company's clip on Doctor’s Creek. The modern version of the flushdecked cruiser, the Kowhai is 37 feet long, and has a beam of 11 feet and a draught of 3ft. She should be ready for sea in about a month. When completed she will be one of the roomiest launches in Whangarei, providing comfortable cruising accommodation for eight people.
