Mr S. A. deal was last night elected president of the Auckland Lawn. Tennis Association.
Mr K, R. Tapsell, of Remuera Estate, Ohaeawai, has been appointed to the B,ay of Islands Labour Executive, and continues as district organiser and representative for the New Zealand Workers’ Union.
The promotions of Flight-Lieutenants C. E. Kay and R. R. J. Cohen to the rank of Squadron-Leaders in the Royal New Zealand Air Force was announced in the Gazette last night.
The Mayor of Whangarei, Mr W. Jones, who is also chairman of the Northland Zone A Centennial Executive, leaves with the honorary secretary, Mr L. O. Hall, to-day, to attend a meeing of the Auckland Provincial Centennial Council, which is being held during the week-end.
