LONDON, July 26. The by-election for the Monmouth seat in the House of Commons rendered v.acant by the appointment of Sir John Herbert as Governor of Bengal, resulted as follows.— Mr L. R. Pym (Con.) .... 17,358 Mr F. R. Hancock (Lab.) .. 11,543 The poll for the Monmouth seat at the general election in November, 1935, resulted as follows; Major John Herbert (Conservative), 23,262; Mr M. Foot (Labour), 13,454.
