Italian Immigrant To Be Deported
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”l AUCKLAND, Thursday. Arrested at Farakai on Tuesday morning, the prohibited Italian immigrant, Gcnnaro Valenzi, who disappeared from the Wanganella on Wednesday, July 19, appeared in the Police Court yesterday. Ho pleaded guilty, through an interpreter, to a charge of having landed in New Zealand without being in possession of a permit required by the Immigration Restriction Amendment Act. The accused said he had been looking for work and had not been able to find his way back. He had been misled by a company in Australia in not being told what to do on landing at New Zealand. The magistrate, Mr J. Molding, ordered that accused be removed from New Zealand and that until his removal he bo detained in prison for a period of not more than six months.
