Full-Dress Rehearsal For National Meeting

The Homeby Steeplechase is likely to provide the real test as to the prospects of the several Grand National Steeplechase candidates engaged in that race. The Brabazon Handicap, the main flat event on the day's programme, js over seven furlongs. The placed horses in this event to-morrow may dispute the final of the Winter Cup on August 8.

Promising Hurdler Resuming. That promising hurdler. Electric Spear, is to resume work in the near future. Only five years old. Electric Spear is regarded hopefully, and should be a good proposition next season for Ids owner-trainer, Mr J. D. Kemp.
A Large Team. Since transferring to Hawcra from Whangarei, H. Scally has had no reason to complain of support accorded him, and he has one of the largest teams to staid off the new season. In addition, Scally lias started a small stud which is likely to grow in importance. The following comprise his team: Disturbed, Judgment, Viracious, Silk Sox, Flambcrg, Amoroso, Diamond Cutter, In Command, Sea Link, Erin Lad, Alexcelia, Brahman, Swynford. Plato Lad. and Plato Boy.
