It is reported that deep snow has fallen on the road up Mt. Ruapehu, and in places the drifts are six feet deep. They proved too heavy for a snow plough, but a bulldozer was set to work clearing a passage, and the road opened last night, for about half its length. Mas ter ton. —A heavy fall of snow was experienced in Carterton yesterday morning, the ground being covered to a depth of five inches. The snow will probably lie on the ground for days, making the feeding of stock a serious problem.
