Commerce Chamber’s Annual Meeting
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”l KAIKOHF,, This Day. The financial .•statement presented to the annual meeting of the Knikoho Chamber oi Commerce recently showed a credit balance of over £lO, which was considered quite satisfactory for a country chamber. Mr H. F. Guy was re-elected president and Mr V. F. Cracknel] was reelected secretary. The executive committee selected for the corning year comprises of the president, secretary, and Messrs W. Shaw, W. Thorpe and If. Ingram. It was decided that the existing honorary members be re-elected, and that in addition the president and secretary of the newly-formed Kaeo Chamber of Commerce should also be made honorary members. Social Evenings, A member suggested that the secretary, who had in the past acted in an honorary position, should be granted an honorarium, but Mr Cracknel! stated that he would far rather see money available for such a purpose utilised for the staging of social evenings. This gave rise to an interesting discussion, during which, several suggestions were made regarding socials, but it was decided to leave the matter until a later meeting.
