Schemes Without Plans Not Considered
“This is a bit of a puzzler,” remarked Mr W. Jones, chairman of the Whangarei Centennial Committee, when referring, at a meeting last night, to a letter received from Mr A. H. Farrell, representing the Combined Services Centennial Committee. Mr Farrell applied for a grant to “develop a playing area and to erect a club house.” “I don't see that we can let this go forward,” continued Mr Jones. “Unless they can give some idea of the nature of the suggestion, it is a very vague request.” “It is very definitely laid down that any suggestion must bo accompanied Ly a sketch plan.” commented Mr F. J. Howie. “It is a pity they didn't know the correct method,” remarked Mr J. A. S. Mac Kay. “The Government has laid it down very clearly what they want,” concluded Mr Jones. No action is to be taken in this matter.
