Bay Acclimatisation Society in Good Position
I Special to “Northern Advocate ”] KAWAKAWA, This Day.
The report presented at the annual meeting of the Bay of Islands Acclimatisation Society by the president, Mr E. Doel, stated that the society had a successful year, and the coming season should Be an exceptionally good one. as pheasants were very plentiful. Ducks should supply many limit bags. The, amount (£18) spent in ranging was fairly high, but it kept, down most of the illegal shooting. The balance-sheet showed a very healthy credit of £619. ." •
The president said, however’, that this was because they wore unable to get the number of birds they rccjuired for liberation last year. If they were.able to get the 6QO birds they had ordered for this year, the balance would practically disappear. The election of officers resulted: — President: Mr E. DopI; vice-presidents, the same as last year, with Mr. C. Foster replacing Mr L. Is. Savage; secretary: Mr C. L. Cheeseman; treasurer, Mr S. Skudder; auditor, Mr E. H. Blundell; executive; The president, vice-presidents and secretary.
