Influenza Prevalent

Influenza is rampant at Hikurangi. There is scarcely a household which has not one member of the family suffering from the complaint. Almost every shop in Hikurangi has been affected. In one grocery store the manager went off ill only to have to return to the shop before he was properly well owing to two members of the staff also contracting influenza. Reports from country districts surrounding Hikurangi also indicate that ’flu is widespread, said Constable H. H. Smith, of Hikurangi.
