P.M.’s Tribute To Late Mr. Howard

[Per Press Association. Copyright. l WELLINGTON, This Bay.

“We have lost one of the great workers in the Labour movement and n good friend,” staled the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, in a tribute yesterday to the late Mr E. J. Howard, M.P., whose death occurred on Wednesday. All through an active life, Mr Howard was associated with every movement toward making social conditions better for the people. As Chairman of Committees he had a full and ready knowledge of Parliamentary procedure, and was scrupulously fair in the exercise of his duties. He was held in respect by all parties in Parliament, and his passing will be deeply regretted.”
