Good Yarding At Waiotira
The North Auckland Farmers’ Co. op., Limited, reported a very fair yarding at its Waiotira sale yesterday when there was good competition throughout for all classes of stock. [Fat bullocks, heavy, made to £l2 12/6; light fat cows, £5 15/ to £7 2/6; fat Jersey cows, £5 15/ to £0 5/; prime iat heifers, medium weights £7 10/ to £8; light fat heifers, £6 10/ to £7 5/; fresh-conditioned cows, £4 10/ to £4 13/; heavy boner cows, £3 10/ to £4 5/; medium, £2 7/6 to £3 9/; light, £2 6/ to £2 18/; cows and calves, £5 5/; three and four-yer.r-old store bullocks, £9; two-year-old steers, £5 6/; yearling steers, £3 2/- to £3 15/; yearling- Shorthorn heifers, £3 1/; store cows, £5 to £5 12/; boner bulls, £4 to £6 13/. Sub-contracting as a method ox overcoming the shortage of skilled labour for armament works in particular districts was mentioned by Sir Charles Craven, chairman of VickersArmstrong Ltd., at the launching, at Barrow-in-Furness, of the T class submarine Thistle. This is the third of six submarines on order with the Vickers firm, and it is the 176th submarine launched from the Barrow yard.
