Little com- i petition was shown except for any- ; thing outstanding. Quality tops in the cow pens ranged from £8 10/- to £9 12/-; and other sorts from £5 10/-. The best price for bullocks was £l3 7/6, running down to £8 19/-. Heifers were priced at from £7 5/- to £ll 8/6. | There was ,a yarding of 8000 sheep, 1 the majority consisting of mixed quality hoggets. Ewes with lambs at foot met with no inquiry, and the best that could be quoted was 17/6, all counted. Hoggets in wool made from 20/- to 20/9 for tops, and good ewe hog- . gets made to 28/7. i Store cattle also met a slow market, j Forward 4-year-old bullocks brought from £9 5/- to £9 15/-; good 2-year steers, to £8; forward cows,‘ to £.6 j 5/-; empty cows, to £5. . Fat sheep had an easing tendency, I with shorn ewes selling to 16/3; woolly ewes, to 18/9; shorn hoggets, j up to 13/5; in wool, to 22/2. j
