Prime Quality Steady At Westfield

[Special to “Northern Advocate."] AUCKLAND, This Day, At the Westfield fat stock sale yesterday, larger offerings of inferior quality stock came forward. The demand was steady for prime quality, which maintained firm late rates, with generally larger yardings. The best prime steer made £l6 10/-, which was 7/6 lower than a week ago, and cows sold to £l2 7/6, a fall of 5/- on the top price at the last sale. Values for an over-supply of sheep were slightly lower, with a decline in some cases of from 2/- to 3/- a head. A large entry of pigs met steady competition, and last week’s quotations were fully maintained on the average. One outstanding baconer made £4 4/-, the same ,as the best price for the last fortnight, and the best offering..for porkers .was unchanged at £3 2/-. Average quotations were steady at Gel to f'd per lb. for baconers, and 6.7 d to per lb. for porkers.
