Oldest Woman

Believed to be the oldest woman in England, Mrs Rachel Swain, of Flit* wick, Bedfordshire, will shortly celebx'ate her 108th birthday. The distinction was previously enjoyed by Mrs Ann Stanstall, of Mansfield, who died recently at the age of 108. For several years Mrs Swain has been living with her eldest daughter. Mrs Ashton, of Water End Lane, Flitwick, who is 85. Mrs Swain has lived at Flitwick all her life.
