Mid-Western Competition

CRICKET

Playing in the first matches of the Mid-Western competition. Manngakaramcn and Ruakaka gained twopoint victories over Three Mile Bush

and Puvvcra respectively, while Mangapai procured the maximum three points, from Maungakaramea Hockey Club.

At Maungakaramea. Thteo Mile Bush were dismissed for 52 (M. Bercich 16. J. James 14; J. Lord four for 26. Child two for 12, Harvey three for 5). Maungakaramea responded

with 123 (C. Child 27, E. Child 14 not out, Lord 14 retired, Skalley 19; Bercich took three for 1C).

Maungakaramea Hockey Club, making its first appearance to the competition, was dismissed for 24 and 37, Mangapai replying with 33 and 37. In the first innings of the hockey players, Bellfiold notched 19 of the total of 24.
