World Evangelistic Mission Mooted
Mr A. W. Bell, minister of the Ghurch of Christ, Maunu Road, visited Auckland last week to attend a special meeting with Dr. Jesse Bader, 'of U.S.A., one of the secretaries of the Christian Endeavour Convention, recently held in Melbourne, and secretary of the Church of Christ World Convention, to be held in U.S.A. in 1940. He also attended special welcomes to Mr and Mrs W. R. Hibbut who returned to New Zealand last Monday after a health trip to Australia, where they attended the Christian Endeavour Convention, and also acted as delegates to the Australian Commonwealth Conference of Churches of Christ. During his brief stay in Auckland Dr.. Jesse Bader discussed the proposals for a world-wide Evangelistic Mission, which is being' organised from America, during 1940, with representatives of the Auckland Ministers' Association, who undertook to co-operate in organising a simultaneous effort, by all denominations in New Zealand, to coincide with the world effort. Dr. Bader gave the delegates particulars of a nation-wide effort of the same nature conducted in U.S.A. about two years ago, with remarka(ble results.
