A friend from far Australia has come to Mikevllle town; His name is Kenneth Kangaroo and he is big and brown. The Chamois challenge MikevUle to an ice-hockey match, And Mike accepts the challenge, though Smokl is the catch;

For Smoke, most skilful player, has caught the measles badly! "Do let me play instead,” says Ken, “I’ll learn to skate most gladly.” "All right. I’ll start your training now,” says Mike’s friend Henrietta, And 'neath her skilled tuition each day Ken finds he's be&ey,

At last the great Match Day arrives and clear and fine it dawns. The Chamois practise on the ice and proudly toss their horns. The game's begun! They’re off I They’re offl The Mikeville folk cheer madly; But poor Ken slides and slips and falls and misses openings sadly 1

The Chamois Team is very fast and gives a fine display. And Michael's Team is badly pressed, though doggedly they play. But at the end, Ken Kangaroo, who’s sore and nearly done, Hits brilliantly with his long tail —and lo! the Match Is wonl
