No Place for Political Addresses

Under no circumstances are hospital boards to grant facilities for political addresses at any institution under their control, stated a circular letter from the Department of Health received at today's meeting of the Whangarei Hospital Board. The letter stated that a group of patients in a hospital board institution had recently been given an address of a largely political nature. Inquiries ' had revealed that, the < ('Acer in charge had granted permission for the address in the belief that he was acting on precedent. "It is. however, clearly not in the interests of patients generally that such facilities should be granted, particularly so as it. is obviously difficult to set a limit on them." the letter added. The board issued instructions to the staff that no permission for such meetings should be given.
