Railway Guard Killed
IFer Press Association . Copyright.] WANGANUI, This Day. A railway guard, James Harper, single, aged 46, was killed at Wanganui on Saturday afternoon. Mr Harper, who was in charge of a train going to Marton, was hoarding the guard’s van when he slipped and fell beneath the wheels. He was alive when extricated, but died before the arrival of the ambulance. Mr Harper was formerly a resident of Dunedin. He had been stationed at Wanganui for 12 years.
