[Per Press Association. Copyright .] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. It is announced that Mr G. C. Warren, of Darfield, former president of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, has been selected as the National candidate for the Kaiapoi seat, subject to confirmation by the National Council. The seat is at present held by Mr C. M. Williams (Labour). It was announced yesterday that Mr Thomas Bragg, of Stewart Island, would contest the Southern Maori seat as an Independent National candidate. Mr Bragg, who stood as an Independent in 1935, is the second candidate announced, the sitting member, Mr E. T. Tirikatene, being the Labour Party’s nominee.
