George Walker’s Reappearance In Auckland

[Special to “Northern Advocate ” 3 AUCKLAND, This Day. George Walker, after an absence from the Auckland ring of two years, reappeared in the Town Hall on Saturday night in ‘ a professional wrestling contest held under the auspices of the New Zealand Wrestling and Athletic Club. He defeated a young Hungarian, Lou Szabo, by two falls to one, ending the match in the fifth round with a back-loop slam. Szabo obtained the first fall in the opening round with a succession of drop-kicks. The ring collapsed and Walker evened the fall when Szabo fell backward on to the staging outside the ring. Apparently he Was stunned, and Walker pulled him back into the ring by the legs and won a fall with a body press.
The match was held up for nearly a quarter of an hour while temporary repairs were made to the ring. Upon resumption, Walker back-looped slammed his opponent to end the contest.
